Winter Spiti Road Trip 9 Night / 10 Days

Overview

Experience the breathtaking Winter Spiti Valley on an unforgettable 7 Nights / 8 Days road trip through the snow-covered landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. This journey takes you through the scenic Kinnaur Valley, remote Himalayan villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries, frozen rivers, and the spectacular cold desert of Spiti.

The winter route generally follows the Shimla–Kinnaur–Spiti side, as the Manali–Kaza route via Kunzum Pass is typically closed during peak winter due to heavy snowfall.

From Shimla, travel through Narkanda, Sangla/Kinnaur, Kalpa, Nako, Tabo and Kaza, with opportunities to explore destinations such as Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham, Hikkim, Komic, Dhankar and Pin Valley. The highlight of the trip is experiencing the unique White Spiti landscape, where snow-covered mountains, frozen streams, traditional villages and peaceful monasteries create an incredible Himalayan setting.

This 8-day expedition is ideal for travellers looking for snow, adventure, photography, remote Himalayan culture and an authentic winter road-trip experience. Because winter conditions can change quickly, the itinerary should remain flexible according to snowfall, road conditions and local administration advisories.
